Responsible Consumption
Today we would like to tell you about an event that makes us very happy. In December 2020, Equiori in partnership with the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, through its Developpp.de program, succeeded in building a post-harvest center with the association ASOPEP in Planadas, Tolima and renovating the existing post-harvest center with APROCALG in Algeciras, Huila.
The post-harvest centers help the associations improve the quality of their members’ cocoa, as well as meet external export requirements. More specifically, these facilities help associations better control and monitor the fermentation and drying processes, which are critical stages in establishing cocoa quality.
Beneficiaries:
APROCALG – 120 associated cocoa producers.
ASOPEP – 77 associated cocoa producers.
Congratulations to Katharine Vander Laan, project manager of Fundación Pakka, for leading this project, which undoubtedly has a huge impact on agricultural development in these areas of the country.
